A Cure With Proof!

lumosity-logoYou’ve heard the claims: “Train your brain, cure memory loss, and stave off dementia!” Brain puzzles are becoming big business. But according to the FTC, at least one company didn’t have a shred of scientific research to prove their claims. And now they will pay millions in fines.

Consider the following statement by Jessica Rich, Director of the FTC’s Bureau of Consumer Protection:

“Lumosity preyed on consumers’ fears about age-related cognitive decline, suggesting their games could stave off memory loss, dementia, and even Alzheimer’s disease. But Lumosity simply did not have the science to back up its ads.”

Lumosity claimed that their training would “1) improve performance on everyday tasks, in school, at work, and in athletics; 2) delay age-related cognitive decline and protect against mild cognitive impairment, dementia, and Alzheimer’s disease; and 3) reduce cognitive impairment associated with health conditions, including stroke, traumatic brain injury, PTSD, ADHD, the side effects of chemotherapy, and Turner syndrome, and that scientific studies proved these benefits.”

The “scientific studies” they had? Testimonials given by people who had received iPads and trips to San Francisco to say the product worked for them.

We have all been tempted to accept the claims of a panacea (“cure all” for what ails you). But the truth is, no physical panacea exists. But spiritually speaking, there is good news…an actual panacea – a cure for sins that ail you – the flesh and blood of Christ.

In John 6:53-54, Jesus made a bold claim that only those who eat and drink of His flesh and blood, would have life in them and be raised in the last day. Then He proved, with power, that He could make those claims by many signs and wonders. The greatest of which was the undeniable proof of His death, burial, and resurrection.

Want a true cure for what ails you? Jesus explained the mystery of His words to those who misunderstood Him to mean cannibalism or that the bread and wine literally become His flesh and blood: “It is the Spirit who gives life; the flesh profits nothing; the words that I have spoken to you are spirit and are life (John 6:63).

And unlike the claims that Lumosity gave that their product worked, no one was paid off to present the truth. Rather, witnesses received torture and death. And they rejoiced “that they had been counted worthy to suffer dishonor for the Name” of Christ (Acts 5:41). The greatest panacea of all came at the greatest cost of all.

Spiritually consume Him today, and be cured!
